ABOUT US

Students for Free Cuba was founded on the campus of The George Washington University in Washington, DC by a group of student activists. It was officially recognized on January 1st 2009 - the 50 year anniversary of the Communist revolution in Cuba.

Our mission on campus is to promote and support freedom of speech, religion, press and other human rights that are currently being denied to the citizens of Cuba under the Communist regime. We promote the re-establishment of private property, assembly and demand multi-party elections that are both free and democratic.

Students for a Free Cuba also hosts events that create and foster a dialogue about the situation in Cuba with an emphasis on how we can accomplish free and fair democratic elections on the island and how we can restore the aforementioned human rights and civil liberties.

We serve as student activists to raise popular support for humantarian aid into Cuba, strive to bolster national solidarity with dissidents on the island, and take part in all other activities that may hasten the realization of freedom in Cuba.
